The most important art critic of all time is “the voice inside each beholder/no one at all”.
Art criticism removes us from experiencing art directly, alienating and devaluing both the individual and collective instinct about living in the world. As an artist, art conservator and thinking and feeling person of some years experience, I reject the arrogance and pomposity of criticism and interpretation that is assumed by certain individuals who talk and write about art but don’t practice it. Criticism also supports the “art industry”, its hierarchy, its separation from society and worst of all its conversion of the beautiful and spiritual into product for sale.
I prefer a society like Bali, where every ones participates in the artistic cultural life as a community.
